Question #: 14879

Question: [2.2 kW (kilowatt) Water Cooled Spindle with Inverter (VFD)] Hello. I’m interested in buying a water cooled spindle and VFD. I have an Avid Pro CNC and would love to control it using Mach 4 but I keep hearing it’s difficult to integrate. Also, is the water pump 120 or 240? I’d love any advice etc. eBay is a web of confusion with all of the options. Thank you.

Current Solution

The AVID CNC has a control box that contains a large connector with a lot of pins. Two of those pins are reserved for the on and off of a spindle. Hook up pins 7 and 8 of the Avid CNC control box to FWD and GND in the VFD and control the speed with the dial on the VFD.
