    You should use the linuxcnc.org site and click on the download menu item. They have an EU mirror as the main download option.

  • You built the first 36 inch Blue Chick for me. One of the V-Groove bearings on the X-axis froze. Is there a method of repairing this? Or do I order another and a spare. If so, what is the procedure to repair or order?

    If your bearing does not turn anymore, it is possible to repair the frozen bearing.

    You can carefully remove the shield on one side of the bearing. Use a very thin blade to remove the shield.

    Once the shield is removed, use WD-40 or kerosene to wash out and clean any debris that exists within the bearing. WD-40 is a cleaner, not a lubrication agent.

    You will then need to re-lubricate the bearing. Packing grease into the bearing will provide good protection not allowing too much metal on metal friction. There will be a layer of grease separating the ball bearings from the inner and outer races.

    If you have a production environment, you may want to purchase extra bearings so that you will not have any down time.

    If you have a rubber shield, just pry it out using any sharp object, like a utility knife. If your bearing has a metal shield, there may be a retaining ring along the outer race keeping the shield in place. Simply remove the retaining ring and the metal shield will fall out easily. If the metal shield does not have a retaining ring, that shield will not be able to be removed and a new bearing will need to be purchased to replace the frozen bearing.

  • I ordered a collet set for a Porter Cable router on 10/7, my card was charged on 10/8. I have not heard anything from you as to when it would ship, or even a confirmation of the order. Please let me know the status.

    That order did not show up in our system. We searched and found it in our PayPal activity. We are sending it today. My apologies for this.

    From our records, you ordered Mach3. We purchase the license from the software developer and then we email you the license file that will be copied into your Mach3 installation.

    Make sure to install Mach3 while you wait for the license file to be emailed to you.

  • Transaction EQEPB4915043, My 2.2Kw Spindle and Inverter showed up without any manual or instructions. Can you provide a manual? Thank you

    The spindle does not come with a manual, however the inverter should come with a manual booklet in the box. The wiring diagram and PD settings for the inverter and spindle (https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/spindle-inverter-2!2kw-spindle-novfd) can be view together on the spindle page, also you can use a local hardware store extension cord (orange) to connect/wire from your outlet(220V) to your inverter and spindle accordingly from the diagram.

    Additional Information:
    I also received a spindle and inverter without a manual. While the diagrams on the product page were sufficient to get the unit running, there is no documentation anywhere to be found concerning the terminal block that is used for external control. What does one have to do to get a hold of the manual that was supposed to come with the inverter? Manuals for the 220VAC model are plentiful online; however, manuals for the 110VAC model are non-existent.

    All parts are shipped from the Tampa Florida area. The time it would take parts to ship to Ontario can vary depending on the size of the parcel and the time it takes customs to clear the shipment. Sometimes it is very quick and other times it can take a very long time, unfortunately.     It's generally acceptable to use one pin for all of your limit switches wired Normally Closed (NC), and another separate pin for a Z probe that is Normally Open (NO). LinuxCNC is quite flexible and allows for mixed configurations of NC and NO switches.

    Just ensure you configure LinuxCNC correctly to recognize each pin's logic (Active low or active high). And perhaps run a few tests before running the machine.

    Additional Information:
    It's generally acceptable to use one pin for all of your limit switches wired Normally Closed (NC), and another separate pin for a Z probe that is Normally Open (NO). LinuxCNC is quite flexible and allows for mixed configurations of NC and NO switches.

    In the tracking for that package, it says it was "Delivered, Garage or Other Location at Address". The package was probably too large to insert it in the mail box. If it was delivered on your porch or garage as stated in the tracking, then a person may have walked away with it. Call your local USPS office and inform then that your package was not where it stated on the tracking.

  • The relay doesn't have a A+ B - it has signal in god. 5v. / 0 S P. This has to go to my USB motion card wiring shows v+ goes to top of coil no number and comes out the bottom to #2 the relay I got from you is not that simple

    The relay is only used for devices like routers, spindles, coolant, mist, etc. The relay works like an automatic switch and will allow current to pass when the relay is engaged.

    That is correct, the only manner to get our machines is to buy one of our kits. We do not provide or sell our plans, the only CNC machine you can find on our website will be the scratch build kit and plans which is a 20' x 40' , (https://buildyourcnc.com/Documents/CNC%20Kit%201-1.pdf).

    No they will not come in that length as a default, we would contact the buyer to ask specific lengths due to the total length purchased.
