From the USB controller, the CP+ and CW+ are connected to the 5V terminal. The CP- is connected to the CP terminal of the driver and the CW- is connected to the CW terminal of the driver.

Here is how to connect your router to the parallel breakout board through the on-board relay. You will need a spare extension cord. You will need to remove a portion of the outer jacket of the extension cord to expose the white, black and green wires (white = neutral, black = live and green = ground), understanding that the neutral and live create the completed circuit.

The live/black wire would be cut and one end of the cut would be secured into the P terminal and the other cut end would be secured into the S terminal. The live and ground wire would be uncut and travel from the plug to the router.

Or you can find SSRs (Solid State Relays) that will accept 5v to drive the relay coil. Make sure the SSR will protect the 5V line from Back EMF as there is a coil in the relay. The one we sell contains a fly-back diode to protect the 5v terminal.

You will need a USB cable to connect the computer and the Mach3 USB. The 64-bit operating system must be Windows and you will need the Mach3 CNC control software installed on the operating system.

Move the file to your Mach3 Plugins folder Example: "C:/Users/ProgramFiles/Mach3/Plugins"

You should not have a problem with using this controller and having more than 500 lines of GCode. The 500-lines limitation is specific to licensing. I do not recommend using the Mach3 USB controller to be used with a torch height controller. There are only 4 inputs on the Mach3 USB controller. We have tried to interface a Proma THC to this board without success; however, we did not exhaust all possibilities.

I would recommend the Pokeys57CNC controller to connect the Proma THC as I have interfaced these two before and they work well together.

However it how do I get the software to work? PlanetCNC sent me a key that looks like it will only work with a backup control board I purchased from them?

The parallel breakout board has the db25 connector for data and the USB connector for power. Connect the USB from the computer to the parallel breakout board so the breakout board will have 5V of power coming from the computer. The db25 connector (connector with the 25 pins) receive data signals for each pin from 1 to 17 and have respective numbered screw terminals, some for input and some for output (18 to 25 are gnd pins).

You can use this board to have two motors/drivers on a single axis.

You have two solutions for this:

Wire the YP and TD to two drivers so they are receiving the same pulses and direction signals from the controller (if you need the motors to turn in opposite directions, just swap the A and B coils where the motor connects to the driver for one of the drivers/motors). This will free up an axis on the board.

Use the Mach3 slaave axis option where you resolve the two motors on a single axis by software. This will require you to use the extra axis on the board.

The simplest, and arguably the most certain, way is to wire the switch into the incoming power so that throwing the switch kills all power to every part of the machine.
