Question: mach 3 not activating output 1?

Current Solution

Make sure to watch my Mach3 USB outputs video on the product page for the Mach3 USB controller. If it still doesn't work, make sure to set the port to port 3 for the output you are using.

    For both of the controllers that I recommend, the pokeys57CNC and the Mach3 USB controllers, will both work fine in windows 10. If you are using the Mach3 USB controller, confirm that the output in the ports and pins configuration is using port 3.

  • How to output 0-10V to AVI+AVI-?

    In the motor outputs, the spindle should be set to pin number 3. This is also the output terminal number 3 (O3). In Mach3: Select [Config], select [Ports and Pins], and select [Spindle Setup] page in the popup dialog box. In the Motor Control box, check Use Spindle Motor Output and select PWM Control.

    [Use spindle motor output] is checked, Mach3 will automatically enable the spindle motor output pin. Click OK when the pop-up happens that will say "Spindle Motor has now been enabled. Ensure you set its pinouts.

    Next, select the Motor Outputs tab. At the line where [Signal] is [Spindle], check [Enable], modify [Step Port] to "3", modify [Step Pin#] to "3", and specify O3 as Is the output terminal of the PWM.

    Press [OK] button to save. Connect the indicator (refer to the previous section) to O3 for debugging. When the program "M3"executed is, O3 output signal can be seen.

    The AVI+ and AVI- corresponds to the ACM and AVI terminals.

    Additional Information:
    In the answer setting, 0-24V is output to out3, but not to AVI+/ACOM.
    Of course, 10V is given to the 10V terminal of the board.

  • wiring the Huajiang yl6000 inverter to mach 3

    1) Acquire a 5 or 6 conductor wire cable of generous length to fit between your Mach30 controller and your VFD (Variable Frequency Drive). The wire gauge should be somewhere between 18GA and 22GA. Maximum current draw will be under 20 milliamps. Cable may also be shielded and/or twisted pairs.
    2) Wire #1 from controller ground to VFD XGND (DC ground)
    4) Wire #2 from controller output defined as (MACH3 output#2) to VFD FWD input
    Note This will give you the ability to start and top the spindle.
    5) Wire #3 from controller analog ground (Speed circuit) to VFD GND.
    6) Wire #4 from controller analog speed output to VFD VI1 (Speed control voltage).
    7) Wire #5 from controller Analog speed 10V or 12V input to VFD 10V or VFD 13V output. (Analog supply voltage).
    8) Program the VFD to accept external start and stop control with front panel STOP.
    9) Program the VFD to accept external analog speed control for zero to ten volts input.
    The above wiring will allow you to start and stop the spindle, and set the spindle speed. You will have control both from G-Code and Mach3 front panel control, including manual On/OFF and percentage control.
    Note: Modbus control is very difficult and fussy to set up, and you lose mach3 front panel manual control.

    Mach3 is not compatible with the USB breakout board, so you need Planet CNC in its place.

    I am confused by this same issue. I am using the Mach3 USB interface board with Mach3 and it works fine. In fact a video of it is on this very website. (link below)

    Is the Mach3 USB interface board the same thing as Planet-CNC USB board?
    It has been stated on this FAQ that it cannot be used with Mach3 and can only be used with Planet CNC USB software.
