  • Do you have customers/builders in the Netherlands who I can ask for help or assistance?

I would recommend creating a post in our forums page (buildyourtools.com), and ask any specific questions there! Since there might be someone willing to help you locally!

Since we cannot disclose any customers contact information, without there permission! Going through the forums will be the best idea to be able to find someone locally, with one of our machines!

Also you can contact us directly at customerservice@buildyourcnc.com

  • [575] Hi can I use a zeroing block with mock three interface board and do you have one I can purchase and directions on how to set up

Yes, you can use a conductive metal to serve as a zeroing block for the Z axis. All you need to do is connect the block (conductive metal) to one of the 4 inputs on the controller. The end mill must be connected to the DCM terminal (the GND of the 24V power supply) of the controller. In the inputs dialog box (config-ports and pins-inputs). Under the probe line, enter port 3 and the pin used for the block.

  • DO YOU HAVE BLACKTOES WITH TABLES?

Yes, we have the optional table for the blackToe, but we need to fabricate it, which only takes one day. We generally reserve one week for the total fabrication and packing of all parts.

  • DO NEED TO SQUARE UP THE MACHINE AND IF SO YOU HAVE INSTRUCTIONS OR VIDEO FOR THIS?

The eyebolts are used in the squaring of the machine. I would use a standard carpenters square and first run the end mill along the edge of the square to first make it parallel with the long axis. Then run the end mill along the other edge with the short axis and adjust the eye bolts and chain according to the angle that the machine is out of square.

  • co you sell plans so I can cut my own laser setup??

The plans or DXF files are not offered. We sell the machines as kits or fully assembled. The kits are very well priced and will most likely cost less if materials and labor than working from plans (this comes from feedback from many customers that built similar machines from plans).

  • Can I have a slave axis on Mach3 USB Board?

Yes, you can. You can slave the axis with two motors by using the "A" (AD and AP) terminals for the slaved motor on the axis with two motors. In Mach3, click the config menu and select "slave axis". Select the axis that contains the slave axis and select the A Axis radio button under that axis.

  • It is possible to control externally the 1.5kW Inverter (VFD) (220 Volt) with PWM so i can control the spindle rotation? Do you have the documentation? Thank you

Our spindle VFD's, have a multitude of different connectors that can be used for different operations. There is a manual that comes with each VFD, and you can refer to page 11 for different functions and descriptions.

We currently have a PWM, working with our machine, however it is connected via USB, and setup through Mach 3.
Also if you may have misplaced or lost the manual here is a link to the pdf:

  • Hi I have a Proxxon MF70, I want to add 3axis stepper with controller and software by USB. Can you suggest a kit for me? Thanks.

To implement a electronics combo to run you Proxxon MF70, you will need to find the correct drive components (ACME screw, linear rail, etc) and look into any specific modifications needed to your rig.
I would recommend the USB 3 Axis Large Motors Electronics w/ USB Interface Board.
Since the machine is metal, our larger motors would be highly recommended.

We have not done this conversion, through research is recommended.

  • How can I have two stepper motors on one axis

Yes, you can use 2 motors in the same axis output, however you will still need a driver for that motor! Also depending on the orientation on which you mount the motor you might have to invert the direction of the motor, and that will be simple by swapping the A+,A-, to the B+,B- locations and vice versa, from the driver to the motor wiring.

Also you can run a slave motor using another axis on the board, and setting it up in the Planet-CNC settings.

Planet-CNC/File/Settings/Axes, here you will enter 3 in the Number of Axes location, and then change the Function of the Axis 4 to Slave 1. There you will have the 4th axis or A-axis be a slave for the x-axis.
    Slave 1 - X-Axis
    Slave 2 - Y-Axis
    Slave 3 - A-Axis
    Slave 4 - B-Axis
    Etc...

  • Can I use the driver's I have with the Pokey57

Since the Pokey57CNC outputs standard pulse and direction signals, you can use any stepper driver. So, you do not need to use the Postep driver to operate your stepper motors.

The Pokey57CNC control board is extremely feature rich and can be use to control very complex light or heavy CNC systems. Since most CNC system use high current drivers, the Pokey57CNC can be used with these systems.

  • Can I have two motors and drivers on a single axis?

Yes, you can have two drivers connected to a single axis. If you want the two drivers/motors to work as a single, more concerted pair, then I would suggest connecting the two drivers to a single step pulse and direction signal.

    That is to say:
driver 1 and driver 2 have wires connecting from the CP terminals of the drivers to a single step terminal on the interface board (USB or parallel breakout board), and the CW terminals of the drivers connected to a single direction terminal on the interface board.

If the motors need to spin in the opposite directions, simply reverse one of the the motor A B coil connections (i.e. wires that would go to A+ and A- is connected to the B+ and B-, and the same with the B+ and B- to the A+ and A-). You can alternatively resolve this mechanically if desired.

  • Can you sell me a kit to control my motor from the pc? I already have a motor, driver and power supply.

All you need is a CNC controller like the following options:

    https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/electronicsAndMotors-electronic-component-breakout-Mach3-USB-Board

This controller is easy to connect using standard wire screw terminals and works with the mach3 control software.

    https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/electronicsAndMotors-electronic-component-breakout-Mach4-mach3-USB-ethernet-Board

This controller is a little bit more difficult to connect, but is a more feature-rich controller and will work with both mach3 and mach4 CNC control software titles.

Specifically, a CNC controller connects to the computer via a USB cable and connects to the motor drivers. These controllers also connect to the limit switches, spindle/router control, air/fluid/mist control, etc.
