Other Possible Solutions to this Question

  • Transaction EQEPB4915043, My 2.2Kw Spindle and Inverter showed up without any manual or instructions. Can you provide a manual? Thank you

The spindle does not come with a manual, however the inverter should come with a manual booklet in the box. The wiring diagram and PD settings for the inverter and spindle (https://www.buildyourcnc.com/item/spindle-inverter-2!2kw-spindle-novfd) can be view together on the spindle page, also you can use a local hardware store extension cord (orange) to connect/wire from your outlet(220V) to your inverter and spindle accordingly from the diagram.

    Additional Information:
I also received a spindle and inverter without a manual. While the diagrams on the product page were sufficient to get the unit running, there is no documentation anywhere to be found concerning the terminal block that is used for external control. What does one have to do to get a hold of the manual that was supposed to come with the inverter? Manuals for the 220VAC model are plentiful online; however, manuals for the 110VAC model are non-existent.

  • I have a 5hp 3600 rpm 3phs spindle motor will your inverter work for this application 1.5kw?

No. Horsepower is a measure of the rate at which a device can do work, as is the Watt. The conversion ratio is about 746 Watts = 1 Horsepower. Therefore your 5hp motor is equivalent to about 3,730 Watts. The kW designates kilowatts, or units of 1,000 Watts. So a 1.5kW inverter can supply only 1,500 Watts. Our larger inverter supplies 2.2kW, but you need a minimum of 3.7kW for your application.

  • Do you have a larger kit for the Blacktooth Laser? I need a laser with at least 80watts of power.

We have one in the works. It is a 4'x8' machine that will house the 80w laser tube on the gantry. The machine is bout 2 months out as of 1/7/2014.

  • DO NEED TO SQUARE UP THE MACHINE AND IF SO YOU HAVE INSTRUCTIONS OR VIDEO FOR THIS?

The eyebolts are used in the squaring of the machine. I would use a standard carpenters square and first run the end mill along the edge of the square to first make it parallel with the long axis. Then run the end mill along the other edge with the short axis and adjust the eye bolts and chain according to the angle that the machine is out of square.

  • It is possible to control externally the 1.5kW Inverter (VFD) (220 Volt) with PWM so i can control the spindle rotation? Do you have the documentation? Thank you

Our spindle VFD's, have a multitude of different connectors that can be used for different operations. There is a manual that comes with each VFD, and you can refer to page 11 for different functions and descriptions.

We currently have a PWM, working with our machine, however it is connected via USB, and setup through Mach 3.
Also if you may have misplaced or lost the manual here is a link to the pdf:

  • The acme thread and anti lash nut are pretty tight. Can I loosen this combo up a little?

Our anti backlash nut is optimized to give your the least amount of backlash with our ACME thread, so having loosen might give you more backlash and a offset. But there is no current way to loosen up the backlash nut.

  • I need a Rigit Coupling that is 1/2" on one side and 5/16 on the other side. Can you get that for me?

We sell both coupling hubs that can be created to your specific needs. Which will be here https://www.buildyourcnc.com/couplings.aspx and would be the bottom coupling hub's, not the rigid couplings.

So essentially you would get the Single 1/2" Coupling Hub and the Single 1/4" Coupling Hub, and etc. for different combinations.

  • I'M SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE HEALTH RISKS OF CELLULAR ANTENNAS' RADIATION. I NEED SCIENTIFIC (SCIENTIFIC PAPERS IN JOURNALS) THIS.

Cellular telephone base stations are low-powered radiofrequency (RF) transmitters which operate at around 850-900 or 1800-1900 MHz (depending on the technology and region of the world). RF energy in a similar frequency range is used by many other technologies such as microwave ovens, UHF television, other communications systems, and radar. Health and safety issues related to RF energy have been studied for many years and there is an immense literature on the subject. Here are some sources that review health and safety issues related to RF energy from cellular base stations.

A fact sheet published by the World Health Organization. There is also a Spanish version available on the WHO EMF website.
Also see the IEEE EMBS Committee on Man and Radiation Report. Other reports are available through its website.
The International Commission on Nonionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) has published a lot on health and safety of RF energy. See its website. The ICNIRP published an article that describes the ICNIRP exposure limits for RF energy and their scientific rationale. See "Guidelines for Limiting Exposure to Time-Varying Electric, Magnetic, and Electromagnetic Fields (up to 300 GHz)," Health Physics Vol. 74, No 4, pp 494-522, 1998.
A very detailed assessment of the scientific evidence related to health and safety of mobile telephones and base stations is in the recent (May 2000) report by the Independent Expert Group on Mobile Phones (IEGMP) titled "Mobile Phones and Health" This study concludes "the balance of evidence to date suggests that exposures to RF radiation at levels below [international exposure guidelines] do not cause adverse health effects to the general population" but that "there may be biological effects at exposures below those guidelines." Public exposure to RF energy from cellular base stations is invariably far below the ICNIRP exposure guidelines.

  • I'm interested in getting the CO2 laser & Spindle for my Blackfoot - I currently have just the router mount. Do you sell complete kits or can you advise on what I need? Thank you

Yes, if you want a laser on the machine, I would highly suggest that the laser be mounted on a separate gantry, similar to the following image:
    https://buildyourcnc.com/images/machineConfigurations/greenBullV2_size_04x08_angle_flat_f1_no4thaxis_f2_wilasergantry_f3_nolaser_f4_wilaserready_.png

You would need to develop the gantry structure, but you can use this thread to work out the design with my guidance.

You will need a laser tube, laser power supply, laser controller, mirrors, mirror mounts, lens and nozzle. You will also need some mechanical parts and some motors, drivers and power supplies for the drivers and the controller.

  • I am interested in using the Mach3 USB interface board. I was wondering if there was a way to run a torch height controller with this board for use with a plasma cutter, and if so do you know of any THCs that will work. Thank you.

Yes, you can connect a THC, Torch Height Controller, with the Mach3 USB controller. The THC uses the inputs to determine if the z axis needs to move up or down according to the arc of the plasma torch. The THC connects its outputs to the inputs of the controller so the controller will be informed of the states of the plasma torch.

4: Display mother line voltage. This will display the actual voltage at the input.
5: Display output voltage. This will display the voltage at the UVW terminals for the spindle.
6: Display speed paragraph number SPx. I believe this displays which frequency is being selected (P07.00 to P07.07, or 1 to 8 respectively).
7: Display inverter temperature. This is the temp of the VFD, self explanatory.
8: Display input signal X1-X3/output signal. This simply shows the inputs/outputs associated with the external terminals.
9: Display user variable. This one I have not delved into, so it may be something to look into.
10: Display user count value. Same, this one could be useful.
11: Display temporary debugging variable. Haven't tried this one, so I can't inform of any useful information but it won't pertain to this subject anyway.
12: Display automatic multisegment run step and time. I haven't delved into this one either, but it won't show RPM.
